Since taking over the BOT Concession from the METE - Ministry of Economy,
Trade and Energy, Hec-i Tervolit is the fist company which has build the first Hydropower in Albania in the Post Communist era. Hec-i Tervolit is as well the first privat enterprise that started the Energy Production in the country.
Tervol Hydropower is situated around 7 km away from the national road Cerrik – Gramsh and makes use of the River Holta waters via the derivation scheme.
While building this magnificient deed we have come along many natural barriers; we have had to build up about 7 km of road construction and widen up the existing old ones.
10 MW of installed power and Production of energy today is an average of 45 million kWh/year.
The Tervol Hidropower is consisted of separate objects which are:
Intake – Desanding Chamber – Derivation Tunnel – Forebay – Penstock – Powerhouse – Substation – Transmission Line
The Derivation Tunnel could be mentioned as one of the peculiarities of this hydropower. This tunnel, which was found really rocky in its geology has a length of around 2800 m and a 6.2 m section.
Through the tunnel, water flows in from the east side and find its way out to the west side while passing in the pressure pipelines and dropping down the turbines from a 192 m height.
